About Robin

Are you in search of someone who understands you?

Robin Morgan specializes in both Individual and Couples Therapy, and creates a safe space for you to tell your story, to be heard, and to be understood. From the first phone call, to the first consultation in her office, Robin puts you at ease with her accepting and gentle demeanor. With Robin’s guidance, you too can rebuild trust and rediscover the emotional, physical, and sexual intimacy you desire.

Robin has been working as a therapist since finishing her Masters Degree in Social Work in 2008. After working full-time for 2 years at Crossroads Treatment Center, helping people with addictions, Robin started her Kelowna business, A Path of Heart Counselling Services in 2010, specifically focusing on couple’s therapy. She worked hard over the next 3 years to become the first Certified Emotion Focused Couples Therapist in the Interior of British Columbia.

Robin is passionate about helping couples, as well as doing individual and trauma therapy. In the first 3 years that Robin spent working with couples she began to realize that there was a certain percentage of the population that were taking a longer time to complete the couples therapy and having more difficulty in relationships due to past trauma. Robin vowed to find a solution to this problem and so, she decided to study trauma therapy and completed another three year program to officially become a Somatic Experiencing (S.E.) Practitioner.

Presently, using Robin uses Somatic Experiencing Therapy and Emotion Focused Couples Therapy to help a number of individuals and couples to recover from feeling stuck in high activation states of anxiety, stress, and anger, as well as people stuck in low energy states of depression, helplessness, negativity and an overall lack of motivation.

She helps you recognize and change the repetitive stuck physical states, as well as emotions and behaviors that impact you and the people around you. Through counselling you will learn where these feelings or physical states (high anxiety, anger, overwhelm or low energy, despairing, hopeless) come from and release them for good so they no longer affect your life personally, socially, in relationships, at work, and with your loved ones.

Robin also loves to watch the shift in her clients as they begin to heal. In the beginning, you might be reluctant to come to counselling. After a short time, you will start to open up and enjoy coming in, as you will realize it feels good to share feelings and to be acknowledged. By the end of therapy, you will also feel more confident in yourself and/or your relationship and you will be able to continue to heal on your own. You will go from feeling stuck in anxiety, anger, depression or addictions to feeling in control of your emotions, released from the past, and more capable and confident in your current life. Couples go from the brink of separation and divorce to feeling close, affectionate, bonded, and able to discuss their deep feelings and needs with ease.

On a personal note, Robin has a deep understanding of what you as a client experience. She knows personally how childhood traumas can impact all relationships. Her empathy, coupled with education, years of specialized training, and work experience make her the preferred choice for both individual and couples therapy.
